Kobe Beef Restaurant
Lunch at Yazawa Kobe Beef Restaurant, Kobe Japan. From Osaka, we took train using Hanshin Line From Namba Station to Shin-Kobe costs ¥410 per person. But before you reach Kobe you have to change train in Amagasaki Station then continue to Shin-Kobe Station (Namba – Amagasaki – Shin-Kobe). Very fortunate to met this guy who was promoting Yazawa Restaurant near the street where we walked by. He yelled “Kobe Beef, Kobe Beef, No. 1 kobe Beef), we were amaze and asked where is the restaurant located. he showed us the way. 1 minute walk from where he stood. I think he communicated with his other colleague that new customers were coming, then we saw few staffs waited for us and greet us in Japanese. They mentioned also that their restaurant has won many awards and served only the best Kobe Beef.
Here some awards they’ve won. I was feeling doubtful at first, but come to think of it this Kobe beef restaurant has many Japanese customers, don’t think they will just simply put the awards out if it’s not genuine. So I put my doubt aside just convince my self that this restaurant should be a good one and genuine. We were seated on the second floor. I guess 1st floor must be full. Simple decoration but you can feel that they are very proud of their food, this gave me confident that we chose the right restaurant.
Kobe Beef is widely recognized as one of the finest types of beef in the world, and everyone wants to have a piece of it, from meat lovers, beef lovers to gourmet chefs and not to forget adoring foodies like me. Simple and straight forward menu. We chose 180g Champion Kobe beef Sirloin Steak course and 120g Champion Kobe Beef Today’s Rare Part Limited Time Steak course plus additional B course side dishes.
These side dishes are available at ¥1800 (=RM56.54, Euro 13.14 & USD17.76) – It has Salad, Miso Soup, Rice, roasted Kobe beef & A special dish of Kobe beef. They all tasted delicious.
They even tell you how to eat your beef right. First you have to mix all the ingredients with the sauce they provide into the bowl, and take some beef and dip into it. That’s our appetizers.
Here comes our Kobe beef steak 120g Champion Kobe Beef Today’s Rare Part Steak Course ¥6800 (= RM213.60, Euro 49 & USD 67). If we’re not mistaken this is the rump cut. I’ve been eyeing for years eating Kobe beef in Japan cause I know it can be life changing experience and something like eating beef to another level. After I tasted it, oh my god..I was amazed on how soft, juicy and tender it can be. You have to come to Japan to experience it, there’s nowhere in this world you can get perfect Kobe beef, only in Kobe Japan.
Another steak we ordered 180g Champion Kobe Beef Sirloin Steak Course ¥12000 (= RM377, Euro 87 & USD118), in Malaysia 200g of kobe costs from RM390 to RM510. To maintain maximum flavor, Kobe beef should not be cooked more than medium-rare. I supposed the beef just have to let the natural taste speak for itself.
Now I can proudly say that, I had one of the best beef in the world and it is the best of all. You can get Australian Wagyu anywhere but not Kobe. If you see a Kobe Beef in Kuala Lumpur, please check with them where they get it from. if they say Australia, it means they serve you Australian Wagyu Beef, you can forget about Kobe cos they don’t have it. Don’t get cheated! Before we leave, we took photos of this wall decorated with a drawing of 3 cute cows. I have tried Ohmi Beef, Kobe Beef done too..Now looking forward to taste Matsusaka Beef!!
