Tamarind Springs Ampang

Tamarind Springs Ampang

Date visited: 20th May 2015. A friend asked me to show her the way to this Restaurant so that she could surprise her boyfriend on his coming birthday which she plan to do it here. As I have been here few times now so I agreed to bring her.

You have to make a reservation as dinner time often fully booked.

For your info, if you call to Tamarind Springs Ampang they will ask which restaurant 1) Tamarind Springs or 2) Mandi Mandi. They’re both placed in the same building in the jungle, Tamarind Springs on the upper floor and Mandi Mandi the lower ground.

We booked for Mandi Mandi as Tamarind Springs was fully booked.Traditional Indochinese cuisine has been wellknown for Samadhi Group the owner of the restaurant.

They often greet customers with shot glass of juice either sour plum juice or lemongrass. They’re so refreshing! And the Keropok (fried prawn paste chips) with Thai chili sauce as Amuse Bouche. While waiting for your food, you can enjoy them and have some conversation. This place is suitable for everyone who loves good food. If you have business associate coming to Malaysia, be sure to take them here they need to see we have some cool restaurant in town. For romantic treat, or the first date this restaurant can give you a really powerful impression and your partner will not forget that you take her/him to Tamarind Springs Ampang.

We ordered few dishes like garlic fried rice RM16 instead of steam Jasmine rice. Tasted good.

Otak Otak Mixed Seafood RM44 was a surprised we thought it will come like the usual otak otak sold at the Malay market but this version was delicious too. If you are not a fan of otak otak, you can order Chicken Sambal Tumis Petai, Lam Shank Kurma RM75 or River Lobster. If I am not mistaken each River prawn is RM66 per piece.

Green Curry Chicken RM42 was a highlight, as Asian we love some soup on the table. The also have Yellow Curry Chicken which is one of the Malay’s traditional food.

Kailan Sauteed with Salted Fish RM28 always has been my favourite, I love it too. They have other vegetables like Kangkung Belacan or mixed vegetables for you to choose.

Thou we were both full but we kept some place for dessert, I can’t recall what is this, but you sure can try this one. Something with coconut, mango and red sago. That’s the end of the blog today. Don’t hesitate, just come and experience Tamarind Springs Ampang or Mandi Mandi. I hope my girlfriend knows the way here and the boyfriend will be happy.
