Hello, please meet my BFF Chin Li. We know each other since 2006 and become friends since then. We did a lot of things together and shared so many secrets that sometimes it’s funny when I recalled them back. She is the tallest girl-friend among my other friends, I always called her “Our Model friend” and for your info, she is a good dancer too. Really enjoy going out party with her and the rest of the girls that you are gonna meet later. Long story short, she was getting married and of course as her friends, we are all excited for her. So, we threw her a Bachelorette’s surprised Party Dinner. We told her, it was just like our normal gathering dinner. We came out with plans. Karen’s job was to buy all items required to make our party look like Bachelorette’s Party, thus she bought sash, Tiara, balloons etc. I get to make sure the venue and the food settled. Camie was the driver of the night to our honorable friend Chin Li, while Nai Hsing, Tracy and Felicia just pretend like they know nothing about the celebration and came just on time.
Why choose The Restaurant @ The Club? The girls and I were here before, the moment we know that this restaurant won 18 Awards and voted as The Best Restaurant 2013 from the last year’s Malaysia International Gourmet Festival Event, we didn’t waste our time, we decided to give it a try. Food was awesome, service was good and not to mention they have the talented and handsome Chef – Chef Alexander who leads the kitchen.
Everyone came on time, and the service staff lead us to our table (Private Room). We need some privacy, and happy that they have private room. If you plan to have a birthday or dinner party for less than 20pax, I think the private room will be the best choice. Karen & I decorated the place, okay only putting up balloons, the rest of it done by the service staff. The theme was Red/Pink. All our food tonight was pre-ordered.
A beautiful designed starter came in to wowed us. Carpaccio from Hickory Smoked Salmon, with Organic Garden Herbs, Sour Cream Mousse And Sauce. Something light but delicious. Well done!
And soon after, came the House-made Duck Leg Ravioli And Crispy Duck, with Truffle Flavored Sauce, and Tropea Onion Jam. This is one of the dish that all of us keep complementing. The crispy duck blew our mind. This dish quite tricky, they made it in a small portion (just what we told them to do – each dish should be in small portion), and yet we wish it could be bigger, yeah cos it tasted damn nice especially with the truffle sauce.
We ordered a bottle of wine, we don’t know which to order because we don’t normally drink. I got the honor to choose a bottle, I tried so hard to remember what my boyfriend has taught me about wines. Then I saw this white wine with the word Muscat. I remember if anything to do with Muscat should be sweet, so everyone agree, but turned out this wine was sooo sweetttt, haha, I still remember the look of their face when they drank it.
The main of the night – Medium Grilled Black Angus Beef Striploin, And Braised beef Cheek, Potato Baum Kuchen, Garden Peas Mousseline, Saute’ Garden Peas. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy we loved it. And the beef cheek oh my goodness soft and tasty. I remember when I was in Vienna, I tried the 1st beef cheek dish in my life. I thought only in Vienna, didn’t know The Restaurant actually have it here too.
Finally the dessert was served and because of the 3 first dishes were in small portion, we still have a lot of space in our stomach to welcome Iced Champagne Mousse Cake And Chocolate Chili Bon Bon, with Rose Jelly. Have you tasted chili in your dessert before? For me, this is my first, and I love the combination of sweet chocolate, sour and spicy from this dessert. If I plan to go again, I think I want to order this for the dessert. Sweet chocolate, sour and spicy desert, yummy!
Okay, that’s the end of our dinner at The Restaurant The Club Saujana Resort. We know we are going to love the food, the service and the place and yes we did, never say never to The Restaurant. I will not forgive myself if I don’t come to experience the Overall Best Restaurant In Malaysia Voted in 2013. I am looking forward to see which restaurant will be voted as the Best restaurant 2014, cos I will be there as well.
Service: 8/10 (the staff were helpful but if only they placed 1 experience staff to take care of us rather than the new one, that would be great)
Ambiance: 8.5/10 (For private room only not overall ambiance rating)
Price: Competitive (Don’t expect cheaper price for such an outstanding restaurant located in 5-star hotel, but it is rather cheaper compare to other hotels like Shangri-La, or Hilton in KL)
